KAIAHIPUA + TĪHERU
TAU 1-4
"Kia nanaioretia te pitomata o Te Reo Māori"
Our whāinga this year is to nurture and strengthen te reo Māori in
every aspect of learning by creating an immersive environment
and fostering growth in Te Ao Māori me ōna tikanga.
Just as a waka hourua requires teamwork, dedication, and perseverance to navigate
the moana, our tamariki are also on a journey of mātauranga.
This whakataukī reminds us that unlocking the full potential of te reo Māori takes effort
from everyone—kaiako, tamariki, and whānau. Through everyday interactions,
conversations, waiata, and tikanga, we create a rich language
environment where our tamariki can thrive.
The Ahipua is the fire upon the waka, providing warmth
and safety for our tamariki as they embark on their journey,
while the Tiheru is used to bail out water and keep the waka afloat.
The Tiheru reminds us that challenges may arise,
but success in learning is achieved through collective effort.
This year, we are team teaching. Instead of a solo pouako, multiple pouako work together,
each bringing their unique strengths and expertise to the akomanga.
Nau mai ki te Kura Pōtiki! Ānei rā, Hi!
